The Rift Valley game reserves of Kenya and Tanzania, especially Amboseli, Serengeti and Masai Mara, fill with the dust clouds and noise of the vast herds of wildebeest and zebra crossing the veld on their annual migration to follow the rains. Late August through to late September is the height of the migration and possibly the best opportunity of seeing a river crossing which is often an elusive and rapid event.
